My Queen

This Saturday, July 25, is my wife’s birthday. She is the love of my life. She is the mother to our almost 2 year old daughter. She is my best friend, my confidant. She inspires me everyday to be the best I can be. I would be lost without her. Gillian Borneman, I love you with all my heart. I thank you for making my life better. And I cannot wait to share the rest of my life with you.

Need Some Help?

by Joyce Meyer – posted July 23, 2015

Behold, God is my helper and ally; the Lord is my upholder and is with them who uphold my life.
– Psalm 54:4

There are many people who have received Jesus as their Savior and Lord who will live their Christian lives and go to heaven without ever drawing on the power of the Holy Spirit available to them, never expe¬riencing the true success God intends for them. People can be on their way to heaven, yet not enjoying the trip.

We often look at people who have wealth, position, power, fame, and consider them to be totally successful. But many people who are viewed as successful still lack good relationships, peace, joy, content¬ment, and other true blessings that are available only in the context of a personal relationship with God through Jesus Christ.

Self-sufficient people often think it is a sign of weakness to depend on God. But by drawing on the ability of the Holy Spirit, they could accomplish more in their lives than they could by working in their own strength.

There are countless things we struggle with when we could be receiving help from the Holy Spirit. Many people never find the right answers to their problems because they seek out the wrong sources for advice and counsel instead of asking the Divine Counselor who lives within them for guidance.

I encourage you to lean on God for everything, and that means little things as well as big things.

Love God Today: The only way to experience the success God intends for you is to become totally dependent on the Holy Spirit.

Fed takes tough stance on bond liquidity, downplays market fears

Reuters
While Wall Street frets over the ability of bond markets to absorb an approaching interest rate rise, the U.S. Federal Reserve has a message for the industry: deal with it.
The financial industry worries that when the Fed’s tightening plans take hold, a sell-off in the massive U.S. bond market could ensue, and be exacerbated by a lack of bank buyers willing to jump in.
Banks, including primary dealers who act as market makers for U.S. Treasurys, have slashed bond inventories in the past few years in response to tougher capital requirements, reducing a liquidity buffer for the fixed income market.
Private and public comments by Fed officials show that they do not share Wall Street’s degree of concern about liquidity, and do not believe that capital rules are solely to blame for the bond market’s growing tendency to seize up.
Effectively, regulators are telling the industry it is the responsibility of banks, funds and other market players to protect themselves.
“It’s hard to find any financial market player who doesn’t talk about being concerned about potential liquidity issues,” Eric Rosengren, president of the Boston Fed, which oversees many of the country’s largest asset managers, told Reuters.
“So it would surprise me if I found that people were using a particular model and didn’t use any intuition about what goes into those models, and what might happen if everybody blindly uses those models.”

At last week’s congressional hearings, Fed Chair Janet Yellen resisted pressure by Republicans to acknowledge that new capital rules were destabilizing markets.
“You see this decline in liquidity in some measures, but not others,” she told senators on Thursday.
The Fed’s assertive stance is setting the stage for more volatile fixed income markets and where liquidity droughts could be the price of doing business in bond markets.
The message—in public addresses, reports to Congress, and even an investigation into market turmoil last October—is that less liquidity is a necessary consequence of regulatory reform and fitting for an economy that is getting ready for tighter monetary policy.

Somebody’s Praying for You

by Joyce Meyer – posted July 21, 2015

I am praying for them.
– (John 17:9)

We know that Jesus prays for us. In Luke 22:32, He says to Peter, But I have prayed especially for you. In the verse for today, He says, concerning His disciples, I am praying for them. Also in John 17, He continues and says, I do not pray for these alone, but also for those who will believe in Me and that means you and me (v. 20 NKJV).

What does an intercessor do? An intercessor prays for others, standing in the gap that exists between God and an individual. We all have a gap between God and ourselves. In other words, we are not as holy as He is, but Jesus is right there, standing in that gap, bringing God and me—or God and you—together so we can have fellowship with Him and He can answer our prayers.

Isn’t it awesome to know that as long as our hearts are right and as long as we believe in Jesus, He will intercept, make right, and take care of every imperfect thing we do? I want you to imagine Jesus standing before the throne of God on your behalf praying for you. As you do, you will be able to trust that your imperfections are taken care of through His intercession for you.
